CLICKON Studios, the creative in-house production team under CLICKON Media, has seen a meteoric rise since its inception in 2016. Formed of the brightest documentary filmmakers in the U.S. and U.K., the team’s core mission is to create pioneering humanized content for brands.

Led by Creative Director Benjamin Potter and Richard Wilson, CLICKON Studios is setting new standards for branded content with its story-led approach. While brands were initially hesitant to advertise within the documentary space, there has been a huge uprising in dollars spent in this unique window of advertising. Less than two years after CLICKON Media, the parent company, launched CLICKON Studios, the content division reported seven figure revenue in the first quarter of 2018, a sign that this form of branded content is revving up excitement amongst advertisers.

“Young people don’t want to watch TV commercials anymore. They hate advertising, period. CLICKON Studios is providing intriguing stories from around the world that excite and entertain, with brands subtly aligning themselves in a completely non-intrusive way. The great thing is, this style of branded content works. We are seeing engagement go through the roof,” said Mr. Potter.

Some of CLICKON Studios’ most recent campaigns include a documentary series for General Tires about extraordinary people who are defying the status quo and a new series in partnership with Y&R for America’s Navy. CLICKON Studios also works closely alongside Red Bull Media House.

Other clients include RedBull, Acer, Adidas, Continental, Dunlop, Cleveland Golf and Jose Cuervo.

By bringing their documentary background to branded content, CLICKON Studios is forging new opportunities for its partners to connect with audiences on a deeper level. As digital media companies face the grim reality that short-form, low quality content has quieted, CLICKON Studios is scrutinizing view time and view-through rates as opposed to touting overall view counts, which don’t offer an accurate reflection of engagement. With results to back up the argument for story-based content, CLICKON Studios has seen a large migration of brands moving from traditional advertising to story-based content.

Its offices are based in London and Los Angeles, with the creative team consisting mainly of young directors, writers, producers and editors who switch between different roles based on the production.
